South Korean electronics giant Samsung has unveiled that its S series that includes the Galaxy S, Galaxy S2 and latest flagship Galaxy S3 handsets have surpassed more than 100 million sales.
The company has said that this has been over the two years and seven months, since it launched in May 2010.
Samsung has noted that its top-tier Galaxy S3 is selling at the fastest rate, where it sold 30 million in five months.
It went to record 40 million sales in seven months ? with its first milestone of a million, was hit in just 50 days. The mobile phone is now averaging 190,000 daily sales.
Samsung has noted that the driving force behind the rise to the top of the global smartphone market was down to the Galaxy S2.
This has been a steady seller over the past 20 months, which has achieved 40 million in sales.
The retail figures are certainly on the up and up with Samsung, where late November Omio reported that the Galaxy Note II had sold five million ? in two months.
Samsung is thought to be unveiling the successor to the Galaxy S3 in the early part of this year, where that 100 million figure will then be driven even higher.
